Reference report frostkrone: Intercompany processes mapped in SAP Business One

Challenge & Goals

Until 2014, frostkrone Tiefkühl GmbH had been using an industry software with which the business processes could not be fully mapped. In order to meet the growing requirements, "Excel solutions" needed to be replaced and the system had to be professionalised.

By mapping the core processes in an integrated software solution, the workflow will be standardised and made more efficient. This applies both to the individual production companies and to the realisation of various intercompany processes within the corporate group.

SAP Business One with ERP industry solution - food

SAP Business One is a complete ERP solution especially for SMEs that maps all core areas of the company and digitalises processes to make them even more efficient.

In purchasing, clearly defined processes help to increase efficiency in procurement. Documents such as invoices, returns and payments can be recorded and framework agreements managed in the system. Material requirements planning also helps to optimise procurement in terms of inventory and consumption.

The flow of goods in production is completely mapped in the ERP software, from the withdrawal of commodities to the storage of finished goods or produced items. In the progress of the finished goods report via the fast entry screen, the system directly supports the selection of the storage location and automatically creates the corresponding print documents. Besides to storage locations and batches, manufacturing and best-before dates are also managed directly in the system. This enables batch tracing from the finished product to the raw materials, including the corresponding batch release or block in the system.

Sales are completely controlled via SAP Business One: from the first contact to the assignment of orders, all important information is stored in the system and can be used for corresponding analyses, reports and sales planning. Using EDI Cockpit, order data is standardised and can be exchanged directly with various business partners.

Thanks to the financial accounting integrated in SAP Business One, finances are under full control, so that financial processes can be integrated seamlessly and the ERP software provides sound data for meaningful financial reports and analyses in real time. Intercompany integration allows processes to be mapped between individual companies.

The modular structure of SAP B1 as well as the numerous partner add-ons also enables the continuous expansion and further development of the ERP solution for small and medium-sized businesses.

That's what our client says
"With SAP Business One, we have integrated ERP software that supports our growth. SIGMA as an SAP partner accompanies us since the implementation and also in the further development of the system."

About the client

frostkrone Tiefkühlkost GmbH is an innovative pacemaker in the trend-oriented "convenience frozen food" segment, producing a wide range of frozen finger food products.

A total of about 200 employees work in three shifts at the production facilities in Rietberg and Verl in eastern Westphalia. The entire product range is manufactured here. All important commodities such as cheese, meat, fish, poultry, fruit and vegetables are processed for the production of the finger food variations. The modern production facilities are specialised in responding quickly to new trends and individual customer requests. This means that even short-term demands from customers in Germany and Europe, who are major companies in the food retail, discount and home service sectors, can be met.

Use of Chatbot

(1) This website uses a chatbot developed exclusively by us. The chatbot is a software-based dialog system that enables text- or voice-based communication with a technical system.
The chatbot operates on the RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) approach, retrieving data from a database to answer questions as accurately as possible. These data, along with the user’s question, are sent to the language models of OpenAI, Inc. without transmitting any personal information about the user. The models attempt to answer the question using the provided data and return the response. The data are sourced from one of our internal databases, comprising text documents with marketing information about products and services of the SIGMA Group.

(2) The following data are processed: session ID for user requests, the time of the request, the request itself, the chatbot’s response, the topic, and the language.

(3) We process this data to analyze the productivity of our chatbot and to continuously improve it. This includes the following purposes:

  • Chatbot performance optimization: We collect and analyze interactions with the chatbot to evaluate its efficiency and performance. This includes, for example, questions the chatbot could not answer, repeated inquiries on specific topics, and similar issues.
  • Enhancing the user experience: We use data to improve the user experience. This includes analyzing user feedback to make adjustments and expansions to the chatbot to better meet your needs.
  • Error detection and resolution: The data allow us to detect errors and issues in real time, enabling faster resolution and updates to the chatbot.
  • Statistical evaluations: We generate aggregated, anonymized statistical reports on chatbot usage. These reports contain no personal information and serve to analyze trends and patterns.
