Intercompany
Intercompany refers to processes and data flows between legally separate companies within a corporate group. This includes internal deliveries, cross-charges, or services that must be documented and reconciled. In IT systems, intercompany is often represented through separate company databases. For external reporting, such transactions are often eliminated as part of consolidation. A typical case is an internal invoice recorded in both entities as a journal entry.
