On-Premise
On-premise describes a deployment model in which software and related data run on a company’s own servers or in a self-operated data centre. The company manages operations, updates, security and availability within its own IT infrastructure and therefore decides how systems are configured and maintained. Unlike the cloud, system operation and technical responsibility remain under the company’s direct control. A business runs an ERP system on-premise when it hosts servers and data in its own data centre and applies updates according to its own schedule.
