Resource Planning
Resource planning is the forward-looking coordination of available employees, machines or work centres with planned tasks and deadlines. It creates transparency about whether existing capacities are sufficient for upcoming work and helps identify overloads or idle time at an early stage. This makes it possible to schedule processes more reliably and use limited resources more effectively. It is closely related to capacity planning, because both are aimed at aligning demand and available resources in a sensible way so that a planned order can be scheduled realistically with the people or machines that are actually available.
