Database
A database is a structured storage location in which information is organised and can be retrieved quickly when needed. It provides the foundation for keeping data consistent and for searching, updating, and analysing it in a targeted way. To prevent information from being lost due to technical faults or accidental deletion, data backup is carried out regularly. This often creates a backup, meaning a copy of the current data set that can be restored if required. A typical case is restoring a previous state after a system failure so that operations can continue with the most complete data possible.
