Implementation project
An implementation project is a time-limited undertaking in which new software is planned, configured and transitioned into live operation within a company. It includes agreeing requirements, putting defined processes into place, carrying out tests and preparing users. It is usually managed through project management. The project ends with go-live, from which point the system is used productively. A typical step in an implementation project is creating a functional specification, so that objectives, functions and responsibilities are documented in a binding way.
