Inventory level
Inventory level refers to the quantity of goods or materials recorded in the system as available or reserved at a given point in time. It is tracked by item and storage location and is updated continuously through movements such as goods receipts, stock transfers, or withdrawals. Inventory level can also be differentiated by serial number or batch information and forms the basis for planning and stocktaking. In warehouse management, the inventory level is checked before a goods issue to ensure availability and correct picking.
