An item in SAP Business One is a uniquely managed record for a product or material that is maintained within the company. It provides the basis for stock, valuation and movements in the system. Important information is stored in the item master data. If an item is inventory-managed, it affects inventory directly and is closely linked to goods receipt. In day-to-day operations, a properly maintained item helps ensure that stock figures are accurate, postings remain traceable and documents can be processed without manual corrections.
