Master Data
Master data is permanently valid core information that is maintained centrally in SAP Business One and reused across many processes. It describes the fixed characteristics of a business object and therefore provides a reliable basis for documents, reports and system-supported decisions. Unlike ongoing transaction data, it usually does not change with every individual business event, but it affects many processes at the same time. Its quality is therefore especially important, because inaccurate or outdated information quickly leads to errors in downstream processes. Well-maintained master data improves consistency in the system and supports the reliable use of business partner and item master data, so that an order can be processed further with the correct terms and conditions and without unnecessary corrections.
