Production order
A production order is an internal order for manufacturing a specific quantity of a product within a planned period. It brings together the key information for production, such as quantity, dates, required material and the intended process. It therefore serves as the basis for managing production, material usage and progress in a traceable way. A production order is often closely linked to the routing and the appropriate bill of materials type, so that individual steps and required components are clearly defined. During processing, statuses and confirmations are updated continuously so that companies can identify early in day-to-day operations whether material is missing, dates are slipping or an order can be completed as planned.
