Trial version
A trial version is a time-limited or functionally restricted edition of software used to assess usability, processes and technical interaction without affecting live operations. It is often run in a separate client or isolated environment so that test data can be used and settings can be tried out safely. Typical restrictions relate to duration, number of users, modules or support, while the interface and core logic remain as close as possible to later productive use. A trial version helps organisations verify requirements and assess workflows realistically before introducing an ERP system. A company uses the trial version to simulate the quotation-to-invoice process with real user roles and resolve open issues before go-live.
