Data migration
Data migration is the structured transfer of data from a legacy system into a new system. During this process, information is reviewed, mapped and converted into the target format so that it can continue to be used completely and correctly. A data migration often involves master data, transaction data and open items. It is closely linked to data mapping and data cleansing, because fields, values and data quality must be aligned before the transfer.
