Inventory Posting
An inventory posting is the manual or system-supported correction of a warehouse quantity in the system when the recorded stock differs from the actual stock. It is used to clear discrepancies after a stock count or to correct incorrect postings. The posting directly changes the inventory of an item and ensures that subsequent processes work with current quantities. Depending on the settings, it can also affect the valuation of stock. A clean inventory posting ensures that available quantities, reports and further postings are based on reliable data, so discrepancies identified during the count can be traced and corrected directly in the system.
