Stocktaking
Stocktaking is the systematic recording of the stock actually on hand at a specific key date or within a defined period. In SAP Business One, it is used to compare the inventory level recorded in the system with the quantities physically available and to identify discrepancies in a traceable way. It is usually based on a stock count, the results of which are then reviewed and, if necessary, corrected through an inventory posting. Stocktaking is therefore important not only for stock accuracy but also for reliable valuation in the year-end closing , so that differences between counted and recorded stock can be documented clearly and posted correctly at the stocktaking date.
